WIRC and Monmouth Winter Head

WELL what a fab weekend we have had!

 

5 medals at the ergo champs on saturday and a crew win on sunday at monmouth

 

the Juniors performed outstandingly on saturday at the ergo champs with one gold, two silvers and a bronze. in addition James R won a silver in the adaptive race.

to top that (and how can you!) we went to Monmouth on Sunday and all crews performed outstandingly. well done to those who had their first race in some tricky water.

 

A special note needs to be made of the J14 4x+ Restricted crew who lugged me up (against a very strong current) and then down the course in a tubby quad. All four of them had competed outstandingly at the Ergo champs the day before with three medals achieved, they put in a sterling performance but because they were in a time only category did not get a medal!

 

we had a win in the W S4 4x with the senior crew beating the Junior girls by a small margin of 8 seconds (thats 2.5 lengths) on what was deemed by the umpires to be a faster flow than the morning (I think they were bias) again thanks to my crew for lugging me down the course as the umpires and officials seem to be having a good laugh about it most of the day! I would like to see some of them in a boat!!!
